ISO 6780: six international sizes

The international standard ISO 6780 lists six pallet sizes that are widely used around the world:

  • 1200 x 800 mm: the Euro pallet, standard in Europe.
  • 1200 x 1000 mm: the industrial pallet, in Europe, the UK and Asia.
  • 1219 x 1016 mm (48 x 40 inch): the standard in North America. Q-Pall has medium pallets of 1220 x 1020 mm in this size, listed under 1200 x 1000 mm.
  • 1165 x 1165 mm: mainly in Australia.
  • 1100 x 1100 mm: in Asia, including Japan and Korea. See 1100 x 1100 mm.
  • 1067 x 1067 mm: in North America, Europe and Asia.

Small sizes for retail

The half Euro pallet of 600 x 800 mm and the quarter Euro pallet of 600 x 400 mm are popular as display pallets in supermarkets. Two half or four quarter pallets fill exactly one Euro pallet.

CP sizes for the chemical industry

The chemical industry works with nine CP sizes. The main ones are CP1 and CP6 (1200 x 1000 mm), CP3 and CP9 (1140 x 1140 mm), CP5 (760 x 1140 mm) and CP7 (1300 x 1100 mm). See CP pallets.

Height and fork entry height

Besides length and width, height matters. It determines how many pallets fit in a stack or truck and whether the forks of your forklift or pallet truck fit underneath. Our pallets are 143 to 165 mm high. For each model you can see the exact height and a technical drawing with the dimensions.

Frequently asked questions

What is the standard size of a Euro pallet?

A Euro pallet measures 1200 x 800 mm. A wooden EPAL pallet is 144 mm high. Q-Pall plastic Euro pallets are 145 to 160 mm high, depending on the model.

What are the ISO pallet sizes?

ISO 6780 lists six pallet sizes: 1200 x 800, 1200 x 1000, 1219 x 1016 (48 x 40 inch), 1165 x 1165, 1100 x 1100 and 1067 x 1067 mm.

Which pallet size fits best in a sea container?

That depends on the type of container. Square pallets of 1100 x 1100 mm fit two side by side. With pallets of 760 x 1140 mm you can load up to 31 pallets in a 40ft container.
