Exporting without ISPM 15

Under ISPM 15, wooden pallets for export must be heat-treated and carry a stamp. This prevents insects and diseases from crossing borders with wood packaging. Plastic pallets are exempt from this rule. So you do not need to arrange treatment, no certificates are needed and your shipment is not delayed at customs because of the pallet.

Light, nestable and strong

An export pallet is usually used only once. So it must be light and affordable, but strong enough for the whole journey. Our export pallets:

  • weigh little, from 2.7 kg for a half Euro pallet to just over 10 kg for a 1200 x 1000 pallet with closed deck and runners. That saves on freight costs, especially for air freight.
  • are often nestable. The models with 9 feet slide into each other when empty. You save a lot of space in storage and inbound transport.
  • carry up to 2,500 kg static and 1,000 kg dynamic, enough for most export loads.
  • are dimensionally stable and clean: no splinters, nails or moisture in your load.

9 feet or 3 runners?

A pallet with 9 feet is the lightest and nestable, and you can pick it up from four sides with a forklift or pallet truck. A pallet with 3 runners is more stable, especially on roller conveyors and when stacking loaded pallets. Do you want both? Then click separate runners onto a nestable pallet.

Frequently asked questions

Does a plastic export pallet need an ISPM 15 stamp?

No. ISPM 15 applies to wood packaging material. Plastic pallets are exempt from it, so you do not need to have them treated or stamped. Read more in our explanation of ISPM 15.

What is the difference between an export pallet and a Euro pallet?

A Euro pallet refers to the size (1200 x 800 mm) and is often meant to come back. An export pallet is made for a single trip: as light as possible, strong enough for transport and without the ISPM 15 hassle. A 1200 x 800 mm plastic pallet can be both.

Are export pallets suitable for pallet racking?

No. Our export pallets are light pallets for transport and floor storage. They carry 2,500 kg static and 1,000 kg dynamic, but are not intended for racking storage.

What sizes of export pallet are available?

We make export pallets in 600 x 800, 760 x 1140, 1100 x 1100, 1140 x 1140, 1200 x 800, 1200 x 1000 and 1200 x 1200 mm. So you will find a suitable size for every container and every market.
