Sustainable from raw material to recycling
Sustainability is in our DNA. We make our pallets from almost 100% recycled plastic, we produce close to our customers, and at the end of their life the pallets become raw material again.
Recycled plastic as raw material
We make our standard pallets from recycled plastic, a mix of HDPE and PP. This material comes from waste streams such as crates, caps and packaging. Working with recycled plastic takes a lot of expertise, because it behaves differently from new (virgin) plastic. We have built up that expertise since 2005. What HDPE with code 2 is exactly, you can read in recycled PE-HD 2: what is it exactly? The result: pallets that do what they need to do, with fixed load ratings for every model.
Only our hygienic pallets are made of virgin plastic, for applications with direct food contact. All other Q-Pall pallets are made of recycled plastic.
Your own plastic waste as raw material
We also look at our customers' plastic waste streams. Where possible, we process collected plastic into raw material for new pallets. This way, we close the loop together. Contact us if you want to know what is possible with your waste stream.
Less transport, less CO2
More than 80% of CO2 emissions in the pallet industry come from transport. A truck full of pallets mainly carries air. That is why we produce locally, in six factories spread across Europe. Almost every customer is within 600 kilometres of a Q-Pall factory. Plastic pallets are also lighter than many wooden pallets. A lower tare weight means more load per trip and less fuel.
Built to last, then raw material again
A plastic pallet lasts for many years, much longer than an average wooden pallet. If a pallet does break, it is fully recyclable. The material is ground down and reused for new products. Used pallets in good condition get a second life through Q-Used.
EcoVadis Bronze
Our sustainability performance is independently assessed by EcoVadis. In October 2026, we again achieved the EcoVadis Bronze medal, placing us in the top 35% of assessed companies.
