Freezer spacers

You place a freezer spacer between the layers of boxes on a pallet. The open structure lets cold air circulate freely, so the entire load freezes faster and more evenly.

How does a freezer spacer work?

When you freeze palletised products, the outer boxes cool down much faster than the boxes in the centre. Freezer spacers between the layers create channels through which cold air flows. As a result, the entire load freezes faster and more evenly. That is why spacers are widely used in blast freezers and cold stores for meat, fish, bakery products and ready meals.

Plastic instead of wood or cardboard

Cardboard goes limp from condensation. Wood absorbs moisture and is difficult to clean. A plastic spacer does not have these drawbacks: you clean it and use it again and again. It is splinter-free and suitable for rotation systems with many cycles.

Applications

The food industry (meat, fish, bakery), the pharmaceutical sector, cold stores and freezer warehouses, and logistics service providers. Combine the spacers with our hygienic pallets.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much faster does a load freeze with freezer spacers?

That depends on your product, packaging and freezer room. Thanks to the air channels between the layers, freezing time can be considerably shorter, by up to 40% in practice. Thawing and tempering are also more even.

What is the difference between type I, II and III?

The types differ in construction and weight: from 3.6 kg (type I, 1200 x 1000 mm) to 2.2 kg (type III, 1200 x 800 mm). All spacers are 50 mm high. We are happy to advise you on which type suits your load.

Are freezer spacers hygienic?

Yes. They are made of plastic (HDPE), do not absorb moisture or odours and can withstand high-pressure cleaning. This makes them suitable for food and pharma.
